When we observe the world around us, it becomes evident that sorrow and suffering are woven into the very fabric of our lives. Some of this suffering may be attributed to the actions and choices of individuals stemming from a lack of self-control or wisdom. However, another layer of suffering, not of our making, seems to emanate from the world itself. It often appears evil prevails, justice falters, and chaos reigns. In the face of this bewildering turmoil, many question whether there is a purpose behind it all.
UNDERSTANDING THE GRAND DESIGN
The viewpoint from which we assess life matters very much. To truly grasp the grand design of existence, one must temporarily withdraw from the turmoil and look upon life from a higher vantage point. Just as a military commander gains a better understanding of the battlefield from an elevated position, we, too, can perceive the plan behind the chaos of life when we shift our perspective from the transitory physical realm to the enduring realm of the soul.
However, to comprehend the greater scheme of existence, we must acknowledge that our current perception is limited. Our vision is restricted not only in scope but also in depth. There are vast dimensions of existence that elude our senses. Without recognizing this, we remain like the proverbial fish, the last to know they are in the water.
The Eminent Way offers an analogy to our situation – comparing human life and a vast river. This river originates from various sources and eventually splits into two separate streams. Each human life can be likened to a single drop within this grand river of existence.
The division of human life into two streams was established to serve the common purpose of all that exists. In her wisdom, nature incorporated a specific property into the collective human experience. This property is each individual's inner, subjective struggle – a battle with one’s own denying part. Certain qualities are developed through this struggle, allowing individuals to choose one of the two life streams when the moment of division comes.
Consequently, human life unfolds in two main directions: the active and the passive. The fundamental laws governing these directions are consistent throughout. They intersect and run parallel at different points in time but never merge. These two directions are interdependent and mutually supportive.
This duality has always existed and will continue to do so. The collective lives of ordinary individuals can be visualized as one of these rivers. Everyone, whether human or any other living being, is symbolized by a drop in the river. The river itself is a link within the vast cosmic chain.
In accordance with universal cosmic laws, the fiver follows a defined course. Every bend, turn, or change has a distinct purpose. Every drop plays a role in fulfilling this purpose as part of the river. However, the individual drops are subject to unpredictable changes in their movement and direction. They may be here one moment and there the next, floating on the surface or sinking to the bottom. Their experience, whether easy or challenging, depends on their location within the river. No individual law or personal fate governs these drops. The joys and sorrows they encounter are incidental to this current.
Nonetheless, each drop has the potential to escape from this general current and transition to the neighboring stream. This, too, is a natural law. To achieve this, the drop must learn to utilize random disturbances and the momentum of the entire river to rise to the surface at specific locations nearer to the riverbank where the transition is more feasible. Timing, wind, currents, and storms must all be considered. By doing so, the drop can ascend with the spray and leap into the other river.
Once it enters the second river, the drop enters a distinct realm with different laws. In this river, there is a law of alternating progression. A drop ascends or descends based on this law, not by chance alone. Resurfacing leads to a gradual increase in weight while descending results in becoming lighter. Floating on the surface is advantageous, whereas sinking is undesirable. Skill and effort are crucial in navigating these currents.
However, we currently find ourselves in the first river. If we remain in this passive current, it will determine our life course. We are pushed about, at the mercy of every accident, and enslaved by these external forces.
Nevertheless, Nature has given us the potential to break free from this enslavement. We refer to the transition to the other river when speaking of freedom. Yet, the journey is not straightforward; one must wish to do so to cross over. It requires a strong desire and thorough preparation. We must first experience identification with all the attractions within the first river. We must undergo a form of death, not physical, but a metaphorical death of the false constructs gathered through ignorance and inexperience.
This process liberates us from illusions, interests, cares, expectations, and hopes. Only the material essence remains, subject to selection. We then acquire conscious choice, enabling us to make decisions free from external influences and the preferences of others.
This transformation is challenging – not merely difficult but achievable in principle. It is a thousand times more demanding than accumulating immense wealth through honest work.
THE ASTRAL LIGHT
Our world conceals dimensions beyond the physical realm. We inhabit a universe with multiple layers, interpenetrating one another. The ancients postulated the existence of aether, an intangible substance that threads through all matter. The Eminent Way student recognizes the aether as a multifaceted medium containing various finer grades of matter (called “Hydrogens” in Eminent Way terminology). Among these, astral matter is closest to the physical realm.
Every square inch of space is permeated with these fine Hydrogens. Developing one’s consciousness allows one to perceive these inner and higher aspects of existence. The nature of these Unseen Worlds, their inhabitants, and their function constitutes the subject of our exploration into the hidden reality.
A NEW LIFE
One of the most profound shifts in understanding brought about by rare knowledge is the transformation of one’s perception of death. Once shrouded in fear and sorrow, death loses its grip when viewed through Eminent Way wisdom. It ceases to be an end but a transition in the grand cycle of existence. This revelation alters our perception of death’s significance in the overall scheme of our evolution.
Hidden from the majority is the realization that existence is not aimless. Life holds a purpose, and each individual is part of a greater cosmic plan. Rather than stumbling through life without direction, understanding one’s purpose in the grand scheme becomes a paramount objective. This enlightenment casts aside the ambiguity that shrouds human existence and reveals the profound meaning behind our journey.
This realization leads to a fundamental change within an individual. True transformation is not a product of emotional fervor but a shift in perspective. It is the recognition that life is an opportunity for spiritual growth. Such an individual lives as an immortal soul, guided by an understanding that transcends mere physical existence.
With this transformation, life takes on new meaning. Existence is no longer a blind struggle but a purposeful journey. As a seeker of wisdom, one embarks on that path that reveals the hidden facets of the world. Pursuing Eminent Way wisdom brings power, security, and happiness, transforming one’s perception of life from a mundane existence to a profound and wonderous adventure.
In this grand awakening to the hidden realities of existence, we understand that the universe is a vast tapestry, and we are but individual threads in its intricate design. The knowledge of The Eminent Way exposes the tapestry’s beauty and purpose, allowing us to glimpse the interconnectedness of all life. By gaining insight into these hidden aspects of existence, we become conscious co-creators in the grand scheme of cosmic evolution.
